EXERCISE
Choose the correct reflexive pronoun for each sentence
Example: Some stories help us understand (ourselves, themselves).

1. The characters in some stories learn about (themselves, themself ).
2. The husband in “Cathedral” was unsure of (himself, herself ).
3. He stayed home by (himself, herself ).
4. His wife did things by (himself, herself ). Sometimes she included her husband.
5. She wanted her blind friend to visit. The blind man lived by (himself, themselves).
6. Robert, the blind man, traveled on the train by (themselves, himself ).
7. The husband didn’t want to involve (himself, herself ) with a blind man.
8. The husband said, “Go by (herself, yourself ) to pick him up at the train station.
